Privacy Policy
How GetTradesmen.uk handles personal information
We keep the site intentionally simple and collect as little personal information as reasonably possible. This notice explains what may be processed when you browse the website, choose optional analytics, email us or continue to a third-party partner service.
Optional Google Analytics stays off unless you accept it
GetTradesmen.uk does not require user accounts or collect job details on-site. We use Google Analytics 4 only after a visitor actively accepts optional analytics. Email enquiries, normal hosting/security data and limited partner referral reporting are handled separately as explained below.
1. Who is responsible
GetTradesmen.uk and privacy enquiries
Last updated: 15 August 2026. Ion Cebotari is the data controller for GetTradesmen.uk and operates the website as a sole trader trading as GetTradesmen.uk.
Controller: Ion Cebotari, sole trader trading as GetTradesmen.uk. For privacy questions or requests, email gettradesmen@gmail.com. You can also use our Contact page to open your email app.
This notice applies to personal information processed by Ion Cebotari through GetTradesmen.uk for the website's own purposes. When you follow a link to another website, that organisation will normally be responsible for the information it collects from you on its own service.
2. Information
What personal information may be processed?
Email enquiries
If you email us, we receive your email address, the name shown on your email account, the contents of your message and any information or attachments you choose to include. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information.
Technical website data
As with most websites, hosting, delivery and security infrastructure may process technical request information such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, referrer information and diagnostic or security events. This can be necessary to deliver the site, protect it from abuse and investigate faults.
Optional Google Analytics
If you actively accept analytics, GetTradesmen.uk loads Google Analytics 4 using measurement ID G-ZCQGRQG5F0. Google Analytics can process information such as page views, sessions, approximate location, browser/device information, referral source and engagement with the website. It also uses first-party identifiers such as the _ga cookie to distinguish users and sessions.
We use this information to understand which pages are useful, how visitors find and navigate the site, and where we can improve the website. If you reject analytics, our Google Analytics tag is blocked from loading through the site consent mechanism.
Partner referrals
If you follow a commercial partner link, the destination service may receive standard referral or technical information from your browser. If you then submit a job or personal details on that third-party website, that information is collected by the third party rather than through a GetTradesmen.uk form.
Depending on a commercial arrangement, a partner may provide GetTradesmen.uk with limited referral or conversion reporting, such as a referral identifier, campaign information or confirmation that a qualifying action occurred. We do not need or intend to receive the full contents of a homeowner’s job submission simply to operate an affiliate relationship.
Information we do not currently collect directly
GetTradesmen.uk does not currently provide user accounts, take payments, collect card details or provide an on-site job-submission form. We do not currently intentionally enable advertising or personalised-ad tracking through the Google tag.
3. Purposes and lawful bases
Why we use personal information
We may process personal information where it is reasonably necessary to:
- respond to genuine enquiries, corrections, privacy requests or business communications;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot and protect the website and its infrastructure;
- measure website use through Google Analytics where you have actively accepted optional analytics;
- understand and reconcile legitimate partner referrals or commissions where a commercial link is in use; and
- meet legal, regulatory or record-keeping obligations where they apply.
Our usual lawful basis for ordinary website security, administration and genuine enquiries is legitimate interests, because those activities are necessary to run and protect the service and communicate with people who contact us. We rely on consent for optional Google Analytics and do not treat general website use as that consent. We may rely on legal obligation where the law requires processing.
4. Service providers and third parties
Who may receive personal information?
Google Analytics
If you accept analytics, Google receives Analytics measurement data on our behalf through Google Analytics 4. Google operates the Analytics service under its own contractual, security and privacy arrangements. The GetTradesmen.uk implementation keeps analytics blocked until consent and keeps Google advertising storage, advertising user-data consent and advertising personalisation consent denied.
Email provider
Email sent to gettradesmen@gmail.com is handled using Gmail/Google services, which process the message in order to deliver and store the email.
Hosting and infrastructure providers
GetTradesmen.uk is hosted using third-party infrastructure. Those providers may process technical request, security and diagnostic data as necessary to host, deliver and protect the website.
Trade-matching or job-posting partners
When you deliberately follow an external partner link, you leave GetTradesmen.uk. The destination service may collect information from you under its own privacy policy. We do not control the partner’s processing merely because we referred you there.
Legal and professional recipients
Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect legal rights, investigate fraud or abuse, or obtain professional advice.
We do not sell lists of personal information to advertisers.
5. Cookies and consent
Cookies and similar technologies
GetTradesmen.uk stores a small local browser preference to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. If you accept, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id>. If you reject, the Google Analytics tag remains blocked by our consent mechanism.
You can change your analytics choice later using Cookie settings in the site footer. See the Cookie Policy for the current cookie purposes, default durations and controls.
6. Retention and security
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was obtained, including any legitimate record-keeping, security, dispute or legal requirements.
Google states that its standard GA4 first-party cookies _ga and _ga_<container-id> have a default expiration of up to two years, although browser limits and Analytics configuration can shorten this. Analytics reporting retention is also subject to the settings of the relevant Google Analytics property.
Email enquiries may be retained while the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can understand previous correspondence, deal with follow-up questions or maintain appropriate business records. Older messages may be deleted periodically when there is no longer a reason to keep them.
Technical hosting and security logs are generally controlled by the relevant infrastructure provider and retained according to its service configuration and operational requirements.
No internet service can promise absolute security, but we use reputable hosted services and aim to limit the personal information handled directly by GetTradesmen.uk.
7. Your rights
UK data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and the legal basis involved, UK data-protection law may give you rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent for future processing.
These rights are not absolute in every situation. To make a request, email gettradesmen@gmail.com. We may need reasonable information to confirm your identity and understand the request before acting on it.
If you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Visit the ICO complaints information for current guidance.
8. International processing
Where service providers process information
Google and some technology, email, hosting or partner providers may operate internationally or use infrastructure in more than one country. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, the relevant organisation is responsible for using an appropriate legal mechanism or safeguard where required by applicable data-protection law.
Because third-party partner websites are independent services, you should review their own privacy information before submitting personal details to them.
9. Updates
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this notice when the site, our service providers, analytics setup, partner arrangements or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published here with an updated review date.
Questions about this notice can be sent to gettradesmen@gmail.com. You can also read our Terms & Conditions and Cookie Policy.
