Google Analytics stays off unless you accept it
GetTradesmen.uk uses Google Analytics 4 only after a visitor actively accepts optional analytics. If you reject analytics, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded and Analytics cookies are not intentionally set by GetTradesmen.uk. Advertising and personalised-ad consent remain disabled in our implementation.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

Analytics consent preference
We store a small first-party browser preference called gettradesmen.analytics-consent.v1 in local storage so the site can remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. This preference is used to respect and remember your privacy choice rather than for advertising or profiling.
Hosting and security
The site is delivered through third-party hosting and security infrastructure. Those systems may process technical request information and use strictly necessary technologies where needed to deliver, secure, balance or protect the service.
3. Optional analytics

If you accept analytics, GetTradesmen.uk loads the Google Analytics tag for measurement ID G-ZCQGRQG5F0. We use it to understand site usage such as page views, sessions, approximate location, device/browser information and how visitors arrive at and move through the website. This helps us understand which pages are useful and where the site can be improved.
We use a basic consent approach: the Google Analytics tag is blocked until you accept analytics. Our implementation keeps Google advertising storage, advertising user-data consent and advertising personalisation consent denied.

- _ga — used by Google Analytics to distinguish users. Google states a default expiration of up to two years, subject to browser limits and configuration.
- _ga_<container-id> — used to persist session state. Google states a default expiration of up to two years, subject to browser limits and configuration.
If you later change your choice from accepted to rejected using our Cookie settings control, the site tells Google Analytics that analytics storage is denied and attempts to remove GetTradesmen.uk Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
4. External services
What happens when you leave GetTradesmen.uk
GetTradesmen.uk may link to third-party job-posting, trade-matching or other partner websites. When you follow an external link, you leave our website and the destination service may use its own cookies, analytics, fraud-prevention tools, advertising technologies or consent controls.
Those technologies are controlled by the third party and are covered by that organisation’s own cookie and privacy information. Our consent choice controls GetTradesmen.uk analytics; it does not control cookies on a separate website after you leave us.
5. Your controls
Accept, reject or change your analytics choice
On your first visit, the site asks whether you want to accept or reject optional analytics. Both choices allow you to continue using the website normally. You can change your decision later by selecting Cookie settings in the site footer.
You can also use your browser settings to view, delete or block cookies and other local site data. Deleting site data may remove the saved consent preference, in which case the website may ask for your choice again.
6. Future technologies
Advertising or other non-essential tracking
GetTradesmen.uk does not currently intentionally enable advertising or personalised-ad tracking through this Google tag. If we introduce advertising, personalisation or another non-essential tracking technology later, we will review the legal and technical requirements, update this policy and adjust the consent choices before relying on that technology where consent is required.
